Peaceful Belmont, Ma. or war zone in the Middle East?
I couldn’t tell looking out my bedroom window this morning. Based on the few pictures I eventually snapped on my phone this morning, I was not sure what to think. The pics don’t adequately reveal the true scene. I was in too much shock seeing the overwhelming number of men with drawn weapons in the street to initially think of taking any pictures.
As many people, I too awoke this morning to the news that we had killed one of the terrorists that was responsible for the atrocity that occurred Monday at the Boston Marathon. Hooray! No love lost here. I hope it was a slow and painful death; anything else would be a shame.
Although there is some satisfaction in knowing that one terrorist is dead, I hope the second terrorist is taken alive. Law enforcement agencies need to be able to interrogate him and extract as much intelligence regarding the bombings as possible.
Once we are able to acquire this intelligence, there needs to be swift and final justice. After his due process, and once found guilty, I believe the second terrorist, (and all other parties involved), should pay the ultimate price and lose their lives. There should be no death row time delays. There should be immediate action taken and implemented.
My suggestion would be a public hanging, televised for the world to see. The hanging should be in a prominent, iconic Boston location. Maybe hang them from the Leonard P. Zakim Bunker Hill Memorial Bridge or from the rafters of the Boston Garden. Let their lifeless bodies swing in the wind hanging from the bridge or hang motionless from the rafters as a banner of victory for the City of Boston as all the other banners do for the Boston Celtics and the Boston Bruins.
This may seem like too much or come off as too radical to some, but not to me. I am a lifelong resident of Greater Boston. I truly believe that Boston is an international symbol of America. We need to demonstrate to the world that we as individuals and as a unified city, state and country will not allow anyone to harm us and/or our way of life. The entire world, especially those intent on causing us harm, needs to know, without a shadow of doubt, that we will defend ourselves and our way of life. They need to know if they even attempt to inflict harm on a single citizen, they will be hunted down, found, imprisoned or executed.
